Jamia Nestor - CEO

RoXXXy: What is Skeleton Crew and how long have you been around?
Jamia: Skeleton Crew is a record label, book publisher, and clothing design company. Like we said before, we are not a t-shirt company. We have much more than just t-shirts to offer. We've been around for a while, but we're just now getting around where people are becoming more interested in us.

RoXXXy: What are your goals with this company?
Jamia: We are trying to create a place where art and ideas can be expressed. Pretty much our goal is to do anything to promote our bands, and artists.

RoXXXy: Who is Skeleton Crew . . . i.e. who runs it, who works for you and what does everyone do?
Jamia: There are a lot of people who contribute to the success of Skeleton Crew. To only name a few would do the others injustice. Everyone who works at Skeleton Crew, no matter how small their role is with the company, deserves as much credit as the next person.

Salem: Who or what gave you guys the idea to start a company like Skeleton Crew?
Jamia: Most other companies only represent one type of art.
We wanted to start something that would cover all different genres.

RoXXXy: Were there any particular artists, musicians, authors, etc. that you had in mind to work with when this all started?
Jamia: There were lots of artists we wanted to work with, and there still are many more that we hope we get the chance to work with.

Salem: Typically, new record labels start out releasing one genre of music only to later expand and include a larger variety. Out of the box you already have a pretty diverse roster of talent for your record label. Is there any degree of importance in releasing records outside of what everyone is expecting you to release?
Jamia: We just try to release records that we think the public would normally not get the chance to hear. We want everyone to have an equal opportunity to enjoy what these amazing artists have to offer.

Salem: One thing that really struck me about the Skeleton Crew MySpace page was the statement â�œThis is not a t-shirt company!â� So many t-shirt companies like Clandestine, Famous Stars and Straps, and Crystal City are deeply rooted within the music industry right now. I mean, theyâ�™re pretty much startups by members of successful bands that have all become quite popular. Being that Frank Iero of My Chem is a part of Skeleton Crew a lot of people would expect that you all would follow suit but it sounds like youâ�™ve got much bigger things in mind. What kinds of "surprises" can we expect from your line and more importantly how soon can we buy it?
Jamia: Now if I told you.. it wouldn't be a surprise now would it? But, you can expect new projects sometime very soon.

Salem: How involved are you and Frank with the physical design of the clothing line?
Jamia: We are both very involved with the designs of the line. Frank won't put ANYTHING out without approving it first.

RoXXXy: Tell us a little something about David Costa, Hot Like (A) Robot, Leathermouth and The Mean Reds.
Jamia: There's so much amazing stuff I could say about all three of these artists. I think it would be best if you just went and bought the CD's for yourself so you can experience their amazing talent.

RoXXXy: What is "Life Is Hell" and when is it going to be released?
Jamia: Life is Hell is a comic about a group of young people with supernatural powers and a distinct distaste for each other are brought together to collect the pieces of the Luciferi armor.

RoXXXy: How do you go about finding bands and artists to work with at Skeleton Crew? Do you have some kind of preset requirements or do you just play it by ear?
Jamia: We pretty much just play it by ear. You just know when you find someone who possesses incredible, natural talent.

RoXXXy: We realize that sometimes downloading music is the only way to really find a lot of indie and underground music in this day and age. And it is true that downloading has helped a lot of bands get their name out there. But on the other end of the spectrum, downloading music also seems to hurt some artists and labels as well. So, how do you feel about illegal file sharing?
Jamia: I don't support illegal file sharing. I think that if you're going to download music from the internet you should do it legally.

RoXXXy: If you could knock the shit out of anyone right now, who would it be?
Jamia: Haha... I'm not really a violent person. Violence never solves anything.

RoXXXy: Any last words, thoughts or comments?
Jamia: I just want to thank all the fans who have supported Skeleton Crew. I know its been a long and bumpy road, thanks for helping us through it all.

yesterday i was reading all the bulletins i have on my space and on one from FIF(frank iero fans) say somethig obut their page..and i wnet to see..there was the url of one page of frank photos their have this is the page

i`'m so alone..please i need found some friends..nobody understend me....my parents said i'm insane...the people hates me.....i feel so alone...why i just can't desapear..and leave everything behind me..actually i start to cut myself...it don't hurt me..not so much like the words the people said of me..i'm not weird i'm just different..but nobody can see that.....i try to don't think in ths suicide..but i relly can't....
